Greetings, house guests. You must be a little more familiar with how things work around here now. There is no escape.

One thing does seem to have changed: characters can now freely investigate the now unlocked Crypt.

On Sunday, nothing much at all happens. Better take the time to rest, recuperate, and decide your next steps. Maybe you have people you want to talk to after that … shit show? Now’s the time: unload those feelings.

Alternatively, with the pantry open with plenty of food available, why not wander into the kitchen for a snack and a chat with whoever is there?

Come Monday, everyone will make up to a most unpleasant surprise: their motive for the week.

Unfortunately for those characters with questions about the motive, Pratibha is nowhere to be found afterwards. Additionally, all the profile entries for Leona, Phoenix, and Yoojin have changed. It’s a fairly clear indicator that they are dead. Enjoy this useful information!

On Tuesday, there are two noticeable changes. The first is that there is a new puzzle. The second thing? Pratibha’s presence. She's finally back. Why was she missing on Sunday and Monday? Why does she seem so … out of it? She’s all curled up in the laundry room this time, intermittently snoozing in the little nook off to one side.

On Wednesday, Pratibha is gone again. And so, unfortunately, is one of your own. What happened? Who is it? All subsequent headers, including Wednesday's, will be frozen until a Wednesday event can take place. We will announce to the playerbase once Wednesday's thread is live for you to investigate!

Thursday brings a very specific change: after 9 PM, no one get into, or out of, your rooms. Plan wisely. You may get stuck in the halls, which might be fine … except we know what happened last Thursday night.

Thursday also brings with it another new puzzle.

Friday is investigation time The investigation post will go live at 3 PM EST, 5/9.

Saturday is the day of your “first” real ritual. You may find the ritual post here at 12 PM EST, 5/10.

[ Leon all but bristles like a startled cat at the sudden, unfamiliar movement coming his way, dropping into a combat stance as he instinctively prepares to fight or dodge. It only takes his brain a second to catch up with the rest of him, fortunately, but he still looks a little rattled as he straightens up again. ]

Uh. Nothing. The house is just fucking with me again. [ He stuffs his pen and journal - now just that much thinner - into his pockets, almost sheepishly. ] Sorry if it sounded bad. Just got frustrated trying to map the place out.

Oh - no, that's fine.

[Scared the shit out of him, actually, but it's...fine. He'll set himself back down onto his feet. Otto sees the way people react when he moves like this.]

No success, then?

[ He feels pretty bad about that, but a small, bitter part of him can't help but think Otto barreling over like that and giving him the betentacled war flashbacks means they're even. He's just gonna shove that thought down as hard as possible, though. ]

None. Might be able to do something with mapping out the main rooms individually and doing some shorthand to note which connect to which most often, or just giving up on the hallways entirely? But that kind of defies the point. I was trying to figure out where all the doors we can't get through are, but that's a non-starter if I can't even tell how many doors there are, period.

I've never seen the same amount of them twice in a row.

[He has been testing that off and on, ducking in and out of the hallway and various rooms. There's been no discernible patterns or logic, thus far.]

We should try marking the doors, see if it persists.

Hm. Good idea. [ Leon nods, resolutely, and walks over to examine one of the locked doors lining the hallway, pulling his knife from its sheath. ] You wanna do the honors? Or should I?

[ He gestures with the tip of the knife at the door. They could just use their pens, but he feels like engaging in just a little proper vandalism, as a treat. ]

...let me.

[If they're going to get eaten for trying this or something, better it be him. Otto reaches forward to deliberately scrape a claw down the middle of the door, with enough force that it ought to easily scratch. Unless these ones are as indestructible as the exterior doors.]

[ From deep within the bowels of the house, there is an inhuman, piercing scream. It is faint, and far away, but still loud enough to be heard. ]

[Otto's head, and all four actuators, whip around in the direction of the sound.]

......I'm not sure that's a good sign.

[It's far more effect than anyone's attempts to get out of the front doors had. He might have been encouraged, if this happened last week. Now...well, we saw what happened to Phoenix.]

Okay. Great. Let's... not do that, then. What if I just...

[ Leon takes his pen out of his pocket and just. Draws a circle on one of the doors, as tentatively as possible. ]

[ Nothing happens. ]

Yes, that's probably a better option.

[Maybe should've started with that, honestly!]

Guess the doors are real sensitive.

[ And isn't that an unnerving thought. He's gonna feel weird about touching them, now. Anyway, once he's got that circle drawn he writes a 1 in the middle of it, then moves on to the next door, drawing and circling a 2 on it. Still cautiously, since for all he knows the house could get tired of his bullshit at any time. ]

I suppose so...

[Otto can't do much to help, it seems, but he follows anyhow, tense and wary.]

[ Hey, a second set of eyes and an extra six arms can’t hurt while messing around with a haunted house. Leon goes on, labeling the doors until he runs out, then looks back down the hallway, inspecting his work from a distance. ]

These probably won’t shuffle around until we’ve both stepped out. You ready to see what happens?

Yes, by all means.

[He's trying to keep an eye on them all with his various sensors as he goes, but eventually of course he does have to close the door behind them. He waits a beat, just because it seems like he should, then opens it again to see if anything's changed.]

[ All their work is gone. All their work with the sharpie, even the scratch—all gone as if it had never been. ]

[ Leon huffs, irritated, and sets about counting the doors again and looking at the configuration of the hallway. Same shape and number as before, or is that too much to hope for? ]

[ Oh no, he gets what he wants. The hallway looks exactly the same, as if just to spite them both.

The contents of the rooms behind each door will, of course, have completely shifted. Only the hallway itself has remained static. ]
